How we handle your photos and data

A plain-language summary of what Change Room stores, why, and for how long. This page describes what the product actually does — it is not a substitute for our full Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

What we collect

Photos of someone else

If you upload a photo of someone else — to extract a garment they're wearing, or to transfer a full outfit and pose — that reference photo is used only to generate your result. It is deleted immediately after generation, whether the job succeeds or fails. It never enters your gallery and never persists past that one job.

You need the right to use that photo before uploading it — either it's your own, or the person shown has given you permission to use it this way. We ask you to confirm this at the point of upload.

Where things are stored

Your photos and generated results are stored privately — never publicly listed or searchable — and only accessible to you via short-lived signed links. Every upload is screened for policy violations before it's used to generate anything.

How long we keep things

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we keep it for 30 more days in case that was a mistake — signing back in during that window cancels the deletion and restores full access. After 30 days, everything you uploaded and every result we generated for you is permanently erased from both our database and file storage.

The one exception: records of payments and generator grants/spends are kept for accounting and tax purposes even after deletion, with your identity removed from them — the amounts and dates survive, but they're no longer linked to you.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion any time from your profile page, under "Danger zone."
